Our ethos

Inside-out Preschool!

Does your child love to be outside? Would they spend all day exploring, climbing, running, investigating and being active if they could?

By basing ourselves outside and free-flowing inside, we provide the opportunity for children to be outside for 6 hours a day if they would like to!

We are a family-centred setting, where outdoor and play-based learning are the keystones of what we offer.

our curriculum

Power of Play.

We passionately believe in the power of play. The best learning happens when children are able to become fully engaged in what they are doing. This happens most often when children choose what they want to do and how they want to do it.

Our ethos is that when children lead the learning, they get the most out of it. Our job as Early Years Educators is to scaffold, support and extend the child's understanding of a range of subjects within their play.

Outdoor Learning.

At Great Doddington Preschool, we are extremely fortunate to have large outdoor spaces which we access throughout the year and in all weathers.

Being outside allows the children to be more physically active, experience the changing seasons, notice how the weather effects them, experience activities on a larger scale, and crucially, get messy.

If you can't do it when you're 3, when can you do it?

What parents say.

Marie Jones

Parent

My son has attended preschool since he was 2.5 years old. It took him a while to settle in he would always cry when I left, however I knew from the beginning that when I left I had nothing to worry about. The staff just took care of him and after a while it stopped. He absolutely loved his time at preschool. He thrived on the learning through play as he loves to be outside. I would not hesitate to recommend the preschool and cannot wait to see you all soon with our second little boy!

Our daughter has just graduated from the preschool and I struggle to put into words how wonderful it is. All the staff are amazing it really feels like a second home. Every time she went she was welcomed with open arms and smiles. The outdoor space is brilliant, gives the children plenty of outdoor time. There are walks around Doddington, popping to the farm to meet lambs, school trips, grandparents days. You name it they do it. Very special memories have been made that will last forever.
