Preschool team

Rebecca
Manager
Rebecca brings over 15 years of experience in early years education. She’s previously worked as an Ofsted-registered childminder and qualified Early Years SENCO. She has a real passion for helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) thrive, working closely with families and professionals to make sure every child gets the support they need.
After the Covid-19 pandemic, Rebecca worked with the Department of Education as a mentor to other childminders, offering encouragement and practical advice during a challenging time.
With a degree in Marketing and a knack for organisation, Rebecca combines her childcare expertise with a practical, hands-on approach to running a warm and well-managed preschool.

Samantha
Deputy Manager
Sam has over a decade of experience in early years education and a BA (Hons) in Applied Early Years Studies. She’s passionate about creating nurturing, fun, and stimulating environments where children can thrive. With strong leadership skills and a love for teamwork, she enjoys supporting staff and working closely with families to make sure every child reaches their potential.

Charlene
Senior Level 3 Early Years Practitioner
Charlene has been dedicated to early years education since the age of 16, bringing over two decades of experience to her role. She has been a valued member of Great Doddington Preschool for the past 10 years and currently serves as Third in Charge.
Charlene played an integral role in the development of the preschool’s outdoor learning environment, contributing her extensive knowledge and practical expertise to shape the enriching experiences we offer today. Her commitment to creating joyful, engaging activities helps children flourish during their time with us.

Diane
Senior Level 3 Early Years Practitioner
Diane brings a wealth of experience to Great Doddington Preschool, having worked in early years education for over two decades. Her career began as a Nanny, followed by 17 years as a registered childminder, and later as Bank Staff across several local nurseries.
She joined Great Doddington Preschool over seven years ago and has since become a valued and knowledgeable member of the team.
Diane is a firm believer that learning should be fun and engaging. Her creativity and practical skills are exceptional and she regularly designs and produces bespoke resources for the preschool, including indoor shoe displays, imaginative dressing-up accessories, and foldable cushions that enhance the learning environment.

Karen
Senior Level 3 Early Years Practitioner & SENCO
Karen brings over a decade of experience working with preschool-aged children and is both a qualified Forest School Lead and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). Her deep understanding of child development, combined with a passion for nature-based learning, enables her to create enriching experiences that support every child’s growth, particularly those with additional needs.
Karen has seen first-hand how outdoor learning fosters confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. Her warm, empathetic approach and calm, nurturing presence make her a valued member of the team and a trusted support for children and families alike.

Kelly J
Early Years Practitioner
Kelly J has nearly a decade of experience working with children — including time spent in senior practitioner and leadership roles — Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and care to the preschool. Her experience as an au pair in Australia gave her a unique perspective on supporting children’s development in different environments. Now, as a mum to two young children, she combines her professional expertise with a parent’s understanding and warmth. Kelly is flexible, dedicated, and always ready to take on new challenges, bringing positivity and patience to everything she does.

Administrator, Premises Operative & Fundraiser
Kelly P is the heartbeat of Great Doddington Preschool, wearing many hats with energy, efficiency, and a smile. From fundraising guru to friendly face for families, she fills in wherever needed, keeping the preschool running smoothly while juggling multiple responsibilities inside and outside the setting. With a natural ability to connect with children, families, and staff alike, Kelly brings warmth, fun, and organisation to everything she does — all while raising her two young sons!
